Wordpress theme Milc3 3.5
Done! It’s done, finished, done! Today my RC4 version went final, brining it to version 3.5. Indeed, I’m talking about …
… a public available Milc3 theme! (click to download).
You should be seeing Milc3 in action on this site now…

Installing this theme on your Wordpress 1.5 or 2 wordpress will give you an kind, clear blog, which is easy to navigate. 32bit PNG graphics are used, so 32bit desktop color depth is absolutely essential. I could release a 16bit or even lower version if anyone needs/ requests it.
Kubrick’s default Wordpress theme and my own Milc theme are the proud mother and father of this new baby. Maybe Milc3 doesn’t seem that different from Milc, but in fact the whole graphics have been re-done from scratch. I’ve used various tools to make this theme, to name a few: notepad, Paint Shop Pro 7 and 9, FlashFXP, UltraEdit 10, and some other smaller tools.
I’ve tested this theme on another WordPress installation, and didn’t find any bugs. My other themes were having a problem with the alignment of the image in the footer – this theme fixes that error. And update for my other themes will be available asap.
But I’m fairly sure that there will still be bugs. If you ever see anything that’s out of the ordinary, please contact me!
There are a few things though:
- the name of your site shouldn’t be longer than 1 line, it’ll foobar the header. If you need 2 lines, I suggest you change the font size of the H1 tag in style.css.
- without changes to the footer.png, the text in the footer should be 1 line, not 2.
This theme is free for use ánd modifications. You’re allowed to as much as you like, the only think I ask in return is a small mail or a comment to this post – but I won’t bite if you forget.
Take a peek at my other other Wordpress themes too.
Thank you! Thank you! Installing it pronto! :)
No no, thank you for installing it!
-edit-
Mmm … but I see you installed my Milc theme, version 2? The link provided in this post (above) is Milc3! I mean … you’re free to install what you want, but maybe you made a little mistake – or is my link wrong?? (talking to myself here ;) )
Very nice… thanks. :D
Hey, thanks for your great work :D I just installed this template on my blog, I messed up the other one and rendered it rather useless in high screen resolutions :P This is excellent work though :D
How can i put that line between sidebar and main page?
tks
I decided not to have a vertical line in the ‘public’ version of Milc3, but I’ll make a custom version for you later this evening … check back here tomorrow :)
Ok thanks a lot.
I like this logo a __whole__ lot better than the old one.
I think I still like Akua better, though…
What’s up with the funky names, hehe?
Clint
Funky names? where? ;) No, I like Akua better than Aqua, and I felt like doing the same thing for Milk ;)
I love the dark version of this theme but everytime I click on the link, i get an 404 error.
Which one? this one? Where did you find a link to that theme? And N1ght is very far from finished for a public release … maybe by the end of the week :/
I think when I click on http://www.damn.be/about.php I got a 404 page. I that just a custome page or a complete theme on its own? I like that a lot.
Virtu, here’s a Milc3 theme with a vertical line left of the sidebar ;)
Yuga, that link doesn’t exist anymore no, it’s http://www.damn.be/wordpress/index.php/about/ now …
Did you find that link to about.php somewhere on this website – or in a theme on your website?
Selder, in the home page of your blog, there is a link there when you click on “fully loaded”.
Ahha!!!!! Thank you so much to find that dead link, gonna fix it right now :)
I think it’s your Akua theme. Foudn out when I checked the html source. Downloaded it now. Thanks!
Thanks selder…
Just started using your theme yesterday – it’s beautiful – thanx a lot
Thank you (and thank all of you) for using my theme!
lovely theme :-)
Any chance you could offer the photoshop file that makes the edges. footer and header as well?
thanks for your contribution to the blog universe
I’d love to, but I didn’t use photoshop … I used Paint Shop Pro and started workin in PNG immediately.
oh ok – cool ’nuff :-)
Hey, thanks for the new theme, i’m gonna try it out later today :)

hi nice theme, though i don’t know how to adjust the post box (it cuts all my post and leaves it with a [...] or more[...]) is there a possible way to edit it?
been using the new theme for a few days now and loving it! :)
Very cool. Thanks a bunch. Is there a way that I can make my font like your’s?
Vance, you’ll need to edit the single.php from my theme, search for “the exerpt” in that file, and you’ll see what do to…
Kyle, it’s hardcoded in the PNG I use :/ I searched a bit on how to make it with PHP/Javascript only, but I don’t know enough from those 2 to pull it off… If you want a custom header.png with your wordpress name in it (like mine) send me an emal with all the info :)
I like to use your theme. but my jpg-pictures will not be shown on the mainpage. only on the single-article. how can I get my pictures?
Silkerblog, I’ll look into it some time next week … ‘m at the hospital now, taking care of my daughter!
I wish your daughter big big health!
I have the same question as vance. In the single.php file, there is no word “exerpt” appeared. Maybe you mean another file?
links are not working for the post in the front page (if im using this theme)
matthew if you see the “php the content” thing on the single post.php thats how it post all the test and images, now try copying that line and pasting it on the index.php, just look at the code and you’ll find the line thing now once you copied the line and save the page, you’ll see that the main page will now show show the full content of each post. learned this somewhere
thanks to selder for the tip too. that help alot.
* i forgot the line thing with the in the index.php. that line you’ll be replacing with
To have all posts fully displayed on the main page, you will need to edit the index.php file, and change the_excerpt by the_content.
Just tweaked it a bit and installed it in my blog, and I’m in love. Thanks for creating such a simple, sexy, beautiful theme and putting it out there to be enjoyed.
Nice theme! I’m going to use this theme sometime later on. But currently I have a problem with having apostrophes in my post titles.
when I view the theme in Firefox, everything works fine. But when I view it in IE (stupid IE!), there are large spaces between each ‘ (apostrophe).
For example, in firefox, the word don’t appears as:
don’t
But in IE, the word don’t appears as:
don’ ____large gap___ t
Here are some screenshots:
In Firefox:

In IE:
http://www.cutematter.freemegabyte.com/help/sshot22.gif
You can also see that the “…” in firefox in IE looks different, but that’s not my main concern right now.
Also, The apostrophes are also causing another problem in IE: if the first post in my blog has a title that contains an apostrophe (ex. I don‘t like IE), that specific title and the information stuff below it will not appear unless any link from that same page is clicked, or if you hover upon the space of the link. Sounds confusing, but I don’t have that theme up yet, so I can’t provide a live example.
But here’s what I mean about the title and the information stuff not appearing:
http://www.cutematter.freemegabyte.com/help/sshot33.gif
However, if the first post of my blog has a title that has NO apostrophe, this problem doesn’t occur. Weird, eh?
Please help, I just don’t want to avoid using apostrophes in my blog JUST to solve that bug.
Mmm. Strange problems indeed. I’ll run some tests on monday and try to figure out what’s causing it…
I take it you don’t see those gaps with other themes? And were you using the default Milc3 theme?
Wow swift reply.
No my other themes don’t have any problem with the apostrophe at all. You can look at my current blog and you can clearly see that there are no gaps after apostrophes when viewed in IE.
I’m not sure what you mean by the ‘default’ Milc3 theme, but when I go to wordpress presentation, the theme preview image under “Milc3″ does have a title called Default Milc3 theme. So I suppose, it IS default?!
(((A question about your 1234 view)))
I see you have a xxxx numbers of view for each individual post. I was wondering if that’s a plugin or whatnot, and would really appreciate if you can direct me to the plugin downloading website… I want to use it on my blog too ;)

Hello,
First of all thank you for a nice looking theme.
But there is one tiny thing I like to change, the arrows between things in my sidebar. How do I get rid of them?
Thank you in advance. :)
Edit the CSS and delete this:
.entry ul li:before, #sidebar ul ul li:before {
content: "\00BB \0020";
}
That worked well.
Thanks. :)
I’m just wondering if you’ve solved the apostrophe bug. I went to look at more websites using your blog theme, and I found that they have the same problem on their blog theme just like mine. For example, this wordpress here. When I browse that blog with IE, in the body posts, there are huge gaps after each apostrophe, but there aren’t any gaps after apostrophes in the sidebar.
I’m also curious if other people can see that as well. Now I’m thinking maybe it’s just my IE.
Oops kinda forgot about it … sorry :/
I looked at my Milc3 3.5 and 3.6 (which is not released) and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary … When I look at your link above in IE, I see this …
I don’t see what could be causing the spaces after an apostrophe. Could you test on another machine? Maybe install a clean XP in VMware – or would that be too much hassle?
I read earlier in the comments that there were someone who wanted a vertical line.
I would be very interested in that too.
Can you please reveal how to do that?
Thank you. :)
Download Milc3 3.06 :)
Hi Selder,
I’m using your nice theme since may now and it works great with FF. Now, because a client wants a special browser based on the IE (urks..), I opened my website with the Internet Explorer.
As you can see, there is an error in the page:
http://danielstools.de/error.JPG
(or open the page itself in the IE to see it)
Well, I costumized your theme a bit, but the error occurs also in the original theme.
Any chance to get that fixed? Or isn’t it a bug but a feature? :P
Thanks in advance,
Daniel
Hmmm … that’s a bud indeed … but I think I know what’s causing it, I’ll have to install Milc3 on my website to try and solve it …
i’ll get back to you asap :p
Hi,
Did you receive my Mail? I’m just asking, because sometimes it doesn’t work and the mail I’ve sent to you isn’t in my “sent-mail” – folder…
Uh, I did receive it, but haven’t found any time yet … I’ll look into it tonight! Sorry to keep you waiting :/
I wanted a nice, clean, simple theme and this was it! Thanks for the great work and for sharing. :) And I too was wondering how to display my full posts. Such prompt and helpful responses. Thanks again. :D
the 404.php page isn’t working. it’s in the theme directory, but i get an unthemed page instead of a styled on. help?
I don’t think the 404.php in this theme is meant to act as a global 404 page.
If you search your website for something that isn’t there, do you get the 404 page then?
Is there a Dark Version out there?
No there isn’t :) But it isn’t that hard to modify it yourself…
yes yes… im trying to work it out now.. just having problems with the background colors and not being able to Find how to change them. its fun trying to poke around… any hints would be greatly received
i love the theme, and I’m using it on my site…is there any hope of getting a wider version? Or is there some way to do this already?
Thanks!
Shouldn’t be too hard to make the images wider (use Paint.net or any other tool)…
